Sarah Sawyer

Owner & Instructor

In 2020, life changed for us all and I created Yoga Stream.  A way for us to connect as we move and flow through life.

Growing up, much of my life centered around sports and competition: gymnastics, dance, collegiate cheerleading, running, and weight training.   After college, my sports activities had ended, and I began searching for a new venture where I could focus my interests, hoping to sustain my strength and flexibility.   I took a studio yoga class in 2005 and found yoga to be more than an activity but a life-long passion that has provided support through life’s struggles and successes.
Based in Fontana, California, I have completed my 500-hour vinyasa instructor certification (300-Hours with Jason Crandell and 200-Hours with Monica Mathews) and my 100-hour yin certification. I am an E-RYT 500-hour yoga instructor who also has a certification in prenatal yoga and is a Yoga Alliance Certified Education Provider.
Over a span of 18 years, I have explored various yoga traditions (Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Power, Aerial, Fertility, Prenatal, Yin, Restorative, and Kundalini) and have discovered that yoga can benefit anyone at any time in life. My perspective is there is a yoga style uniquely suited for each individual, and as one’s life evolves so may one’s preferred and needed yoga style. Each day of your life can be fed, guided, healed or driven by a different type of yoga, and is one of its beauties. My yoga practice has changed my life profoundly, and I want to support you through your own personal yoga journey. I hope to see you in a class soon! Namaste.

Dane Sawyer

Meditation & Fitness Instructor

Growing up, Dane played just about every sport he could—basketball, soccer, baseball, gymnastics, cross-country, and track. He played high school and college basketball, and continues to be physically active. His interest in fitness and athletic performance has been a significant part of his life.

In addition, Dane also has cared for academic pursuits. He received his BA in Philosophy and Religion at the University of La Verne, and his PhD in Philosophy of Religion and Theology at Claremont Graduate University. He’s been a college professor for over 13 years and has taught, published, and presented on topics covering Buddhism, meditation, existentialism, and philosophy of mind.

It was Dane’s academic pursuits in Eastern Philosophy that led him to discover the wonderful art and practice of meditation. Dane has a decade of experience with meditation, and has trained and learned various styles and methods but has focused within the Buddhist tradition. His experiences with and familiarity of mediation practices include insight (vipassana) meditation, concentration practices (samadhi), natural awareness practices, Dzochen, effortless mindfulness, and Zen. Dane incorporates his eclectic experience and interests into his meditation instructions, which focus on incorporating a variety of techniques and skills to meet any meditator’s individual needs and preferences. Dane offers guided meditations focusing on the breath, the four foundations of mindfulness, concentration, choiceless awareness, visualizations, loving-kindness, dealing with emotions, and developing calm, ease, relaxation and rejuvenation. For Dane, meditation helps offer people skillful methods and strategies to meet life’s various challenges, difficulties, setbacks, and hardships, as well as cultivation of healthy emotions, joy, gratitude, and appreciation for life and its possibilities.
